Who We Are
Realizing the importance, privilege and responsibility of preaching and teaching the gospel of Jesus Christ, Guiding Star Missionary Baptist Church believes:
There is one God eternally existing in one essence - the Trinity of co-equal beings: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
The scriptures are our only authority in matters of faith and practice, and our interpretation of Bible Doctrine.
The salvation of man is wholly a work of God’s free grace given to those who put their faith in Christ alone for their salvation.
It is the privilege of all who are born again of the Spirit to be assured of their salvation from the very moment in which they trust Christ as their Savior, and a person who sincerely has accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior cannot under any circumstance lose their salvation.
God admonishes His people to assemble together for worship, for participation in ordinances, for edification through the Scriptures and for mutual encouragement.

History
“We Have Come This Far by Faith”
Guiding Star Missionary Baptist Church history is written so that the work, faith, and dedication of our early members will never be forgotten. A church cannot thrive by living in the past, yet it cannot exist without a firm foundation built on love, loyalty, devotion, and hard work. Our founding members left us a lasting heritage, an example of noble Christian living and unwavering faith in the will of God. Their vision continues to inspire all who follow in their footsteps.
The organization of the Guiding Star Baptist Mission began at the Holiness Church, located at 2719 Tremont Avenue in Kansas City, Kansas, on May 6, 1964. From those humble beginnings, God has guided our ministry to grow in spirit, service, and love for His people.
